I think NotebookLM is one of the best products Google has shipped in this AI moment.

the mind mapping feature alone is so valuable especially across multiple sources - really cool when exploring something new.

I 100% agree! It still has a Google feel to it which is actually kind of nice. Surprised it’s free!

What’s wild to me is how much this reframes the learning process itself. We’re used to linear note-taking, passive review, and a solo approach to comprehension. But tools like NotebookLM are really pushing us toward next-level interactive cognition.

I was actually showing a friend this weekend, as she’s studying for an exam and doesn’t use AI at all, how she could use NotebookLM to study smarter. She was really amazed… but also skeptical. For her, this kind of interactive learning felt unnatural, as she’s more old school in that sense (pen, paper, and repetition).

But, anyway, I personally love it, it's a total gem & I’m glad it’s getting more mainstream traction. I’ve used it for everything from research digestion to strategizing, and it keeps surprising me how many other use cases I could use it for.

NotebookLM is such a solid product. I think Google focusing on this specific learning niche was a smart move, most AI tools are still general-purpose, so targeting a clear use case like understanding and studying gives it a real edge. I also first heard about it through Wyndo! Lately, I’ve been using it to analyze diverse perspectives on the same topic across social media discussions, it’s surprisingly good for pulling out contrasting arguments and helping me think more critically.

This is one of the products that has made a great difference in my life. Anything I want to learn, I create a notebook. This makes learning exciting; it's like we are eagerly waiting for a music single to be released to listen to, and the anticipation is always high.

If uploading very long documents e.g entire books as sources NotebookLM still suffers from the 'lost in the middle ' problem of LLMs where it can miss information around the middle. I always split books into chapters now and have found its reliable that way.

Hey Jeff😇, I’ve started a small writing project for quiet builders like us. Only 30 people are reading right now, but I’m proud of it. If you have 2 minutes, I’d love your thoughts.
