I’ve been a Cursor guy for a long time but it’s hard to deny that Claude Code is on top right now. Opus 4.5 changed the game. Yes - I know I’m saying this just a month after shouting that Gemini 3 Pro changed the game. Things are moving fast.
But that’s why you’re here - right? I spend way too many hours trying out the latest AI tools and models so you don’t have to!
There’s one problem that I can’t stop thinking about when using Claude Code.
All the front ends look the same. You know the look - a purple/blue gradient usually.

If you’re new to Claude Code, I BEG you to try it out. It’s very easy to follow along with the install documentation, and you can get started with either a Claude subscription or a few dollars of API credits.
Claude Code is an incredible agent-first tool. The experience of writing code with Claude Code is very hands-off. Unlike Cursor, it’s a CLI tool. The intent is for the agent to write the majority of the code on your behalf, and for you to only open an editor when you need to get your hands dirty.
If you’re not used to being this hands-off, give it a solid trial. The creator of Claude Code is saying that he’s writing 100% of his contributions with Claude Code now:

Claude consistently runs for minutes, hours, and days at a time (using Stop hooks). Software engineering is changing, and we are entering a new period in coding history.
